Hi Laurie. Very nice photos. What kind of camera do you have and do you use flash. I am thinking you probably don't. Another question - What was Carmen singing in all of those photos of her? Thanks for the photoshow! Marilyn
Hi Marilyn. I have an SLR camera (Canon Rebel). I bought it at Sue's suggestion. She has one, too, as does John deJong and Doug Whelan, though I believe that Doug was using a different brand of SLR camera in A.C. There is no lag and they do take good pictures. Yes, I do use a flash. The lighting in the front rows and at the encores is not really conducive to good pictures. I didn't include any of Atlantic City as there were so many fans there taking pictures. Carmen was singing "Vilja Song." I heard her in Rochester and Reading and she was just magnificent. She was not well and had vocal problems in Bridgeport, L.I. and A.C., though did sing with Mirusia, Kalki and the tenors. She has such incredible stage presence and every time she is able to fit in a tour with Andre, I consider us very fortunate. Laurie
Thanks to Sue and all hardworking fans, I have so many great pics to look at on a single night! My God! That baby is sooooo adorable, but looking at André holding the baby just took my breath away! Soooo lovely!
Just have to add one more comment. Andre reaching down to lift the baby was so spontaneous. He quickly laid that two(?) million dollar Strad on the floor and reached for the baby. Wish someone could have videotaped his dancing across the stage with her. And such a good baby! Must have been the glorious music that kept her calm. Laurie
Laurie, you are right this happened so quickly when Andre put the violin on the floor and reached for that baby. I am so glad we were there. When will we ever get a chance to see something like this again!! Every concert IS different! Oh to be a little child again!! (sigh) Love, Jeanine Ann
Hello Laurie,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the pictures in your photoshow.
That little baby is so precious! No wonder André wanted to hold her!
