Tie Me Kanga-Rieu Down Sport! (Review)

Tie Me Kanga-Rieu Down, Sport: André Rieu's
World Domination Tour

►You may not like, or agree with this review, but it will be in the Herald Sun on Monday, so will be out there for all to see. It's not all bad, I've seen worse. Not everyone loves André's music as we do. It's interesting to see sometimes what the non fan critics have to say. I do think this guy was more objective than most in his category. Here it is if you choose to read it ... Tie Me Kanga-Rieu Down, Sport: André Rieu's World Domination Tour

  1. Hi Everyone
I'm saddened that such a scathing review has come from Australia but it will be lost in the multitude of great ones.
For me this review says very little about the concert, but volumes about the writer.
What we see when watching others depends on the window through which we look.
We will always see that which aligns itself with our state of mind.
    Cheers

  2. Just to clarify, the link is to a web diary account of my (highly subjective and unashamedly personal) experience on the night. My formal review, an entirely separate piece of writing, will appear in Monday's Herald Sun. (It probably won't be available on-line.)

I can tell you that -- out of a possible five stars -- I rated the show "approximately 500 stars."

If you consider what I've written scathing, well... you probably shouldn't read the review that appeared in the national broadsheet here!

  3. I read the review and it's always great to read a critique that raves about a performance, but that doesn't always happen. I wonder what a review by the paper's music critic would have said. Better? Worse?
The attendees seem to be bowled over and that is what is important!
I just opened a wonderful report from an Aussie that flew across the continent to attend and will be going again in her home city. A thrill to read. Wonderful descriptions of the program and she talked about all the continual standing ovations and how moved Andre was with the response from the audience. She mentioned how fortunate I am to have the opportunity to attend many concerts. And I do feel very, very lucky.

  4. Hi Chris,

Thanks for taking the time to post on here. As I wrote on your blog, I thought you were objective and enjoyed your personal review of the concert ~ that, and you made me laugh! As for the other review that you are referring to, you can see that I did not post it. You have the link here though and others may choose to read it now.

I'm happy to see here that you really did enjoy the concert!!

    Sue :)
