André Rieu Concerts in Amsterdam ArenA

ANDRÉ PRESENTS ANDRÉ WITH AWARD

Together with Corrie van Gorp, André van Duin honours his famous namesake André Rieu during a concert in Amsterdam's ArenaA with a platinum DVD.

In the second half of the spectacular concert our national comedian came riding in a golden carriage onto the stage to reward the orchestra conductor for reaching the sale of 50,000 DVD's of "Live in Australia" in Holland.

"You are just as honoured as I am, that I am the one who may give you this", joked the comedian.

This sale result was enormously and quickly reached according to Jos Louwerss of Universal. The DVD only came out in December.

André van Duin sang as guest artist the song "The Village" (Het Dorp) from well known (passed away) one man showman, artist and singer Wim Sonneveld. Our thanks to Berna for the Newspaper Photo and Translation of the article.

Below is a Link to a 'little story' of the Amsterdam Concerts this weekend. We also know that Mirusia sang, "Time To Say Good Bye" and André played "My Way"... It looks like it was another wonderful concert ... Tink's Adventures: What do Ice Age 3 and Andre Rieu have in common?

Also, here is a Youtube link with the Maastricht Staar walking into the Amsterdam Arena to "Conquest of Paradise" ... beautiful and very dramatic ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijIQ5f9Bf-4
