First Watch Soccer and Then Watch André Rieu in Maastricht!
MAASTRICHT (ANP) July 2, 2010

When the Netherlands Soccer will reach the finals on July 11th, André Rieu will play an adapted program in an Orange Atmosphere after the match. The audience can follow the match on the big screens. In that case, "no Ave Maria", said the Maestro.

The concerts will have a South African touch in Maastricht. A children's choir from Bloemfontein will perform and Kimi Skota as the black diamant will give the audience goosebumps.

"In case of rain, the 8 concerts will still go on, Rieu said ... we have enough ponchos available. In an emergency case, the concert will be re-located to a hall in the MECC Congress Center. The hall will be fully decorated as the Vrijthof Square." Rieu says he watches every spare minute for the weather predictions on his IPhone and so far it looks good ... The Rieu concerts will be filmed by 27 cameras this year!

  1. Well, they just beat Brazil so they're getting closer and closer to the finals. Oh, what I'd give to be in Maastricht right now!

  2. 5 of the Victorian Friendship Group leave for Maastricht this weekend - whilst we all can't make the trip, we will be with them in spirit! Those of us staying home are RIEUlly looking forward to Andre's live telecaust into Australia on the 18th July.
And, with the Socceroos well and truly out of the World Cup, we now have a second team to support - The Netherlands!
