Under the Maastricht midsummer skies, André Rieu returns to his home city for his annual concerts in the main Square, the Vrijthof. With special guests from South Africa, it was a magical event, once seen never to be forgotten.

Can't wait for the DVD. Loved the cinemalive version. What a fantastic photo of Andre - a heart throb!
ReplyDeleteVery nice picture of Andre. I do not see any songs of DJ Otzi, hopefully there are some on the extras. There are 4 songs of the Berlin singers.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh really hope DJ Otzi is going to be on the DVD. Looking forward to getting hold of it. Barbara Henderson
ReplyDeleteA$19.99 at JB Hi Fi date of dispatch is 24 Sept. I like DJ Otzi too so I hope he is included in the encores.
ReplyDeleteI have just ordered our copies of the DVD through BOL.com, a major online shop in Holland. Cost: €17.99. Typical store price will be €19.99. DVD will be shipped on October 8th, but you might find that shops wil have them a few days earlier. No indication yet if it will be the PAL or NTSC version. The African Dream was NTSC, which is strange for Holland.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could go to every concert..I love Andre's music. I never tire of any song I play. This new cd/dvd looks incredible and I will order it asap.

Glad to see the new listings show Auld Lang Syne, which means we will be on it doing the actions with our Dutch friends. Fame at last... By the way Suzanne, DJ Otzi was on the ZDF special. My copy anyway.

ReplyDeleteLet me try again since I now see a word verification. I used the Parlor link, opened a Google account and am trying to buy Midsummer's from CDWOW but cannot complete the transactions. They want personal info twice which I am reluctant to give. Where else can I make this purchase, please.
Hi Peter,
ReplyDeleteI saw you on the ZDF broadcast, doing Auld Lang Syne! We all know that traditional English song. But did you know that in this case the melody was used for a popular soccer song? With a Dutch text?
DJ Otzi will be on the DVD, because the first song he sang in Maastricht was his hit Ein Stern, and that song is on the track list.

That's strange. I order my DVD from CD WOW on 9/7/2010 with no problem. They say it will ship on 9/24.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they are having a sight problem from everyone ordering Andre's new DVD....

Addendum to my previous post. Four of DJ Otzi's songs are on the list, so he's definitely on the DVD.

I wrote on the aritcle that with the new UPDATED Tracklist we see that DJ Otzi is on the DVD. The original Tracklist we had did not show him. We hope the Updated Tracklist is correct.

My mistake Peter ~ I had heard DJ Otzi wasn't on the ZDF Special, which I thought was odd. Glad to hear he was! I wish we could have seen it here, but we have to wait for the DVD ... :)
ReplyDeleteSsshh!!!Ineke ~ don't let the people from SCOTLAND hear you call Auld Lang Syne a "traditional English song" !!! ;-}
