The Australian-Dutch soprano Mirusia Louwerse (26), touring with André Rieu for the past three years, is crazy about dresses from the 50's.
"I am a real girl's girl. I like to be pretty. As a young girl, Barbie was my huge role model. I always wore pink and skirts, even while horseback riding.
When I, at the age of 14 started to perform as a professional singer, my interests for fashion became part of the job.
"I Always Wore Pink and Skirts, Even While Horseback Riding"
During the touring around the world with André Rieu, I prefer to go shopping in my free time. I cannot wait until we go to England, where I can indulge myself in the Topshop. Clothing has to primarily suit you, the brand name does not matter. My taste has evolved more and more this past year by listening closely to the stylists, and also by experimenting with styles and colors.
I have an old fashioned hourglass figure: short, fitted dresses accented with high heels look the best on me. My clothing must be stylish and look feminine, and if I wear jeans, it'll be with a nice top. And never jeans with tears, that I find to be unsightly!
The 50's styles I find to be very inspiring, then women had, just like me, small waists, round hips and big breasts and they all looked so very feminine. That's why the series "Mad Men" really appeals to me, just like Sex and the City. Carrie and Samantha are still my role models. Actually I am just a slightly heavier version of Carrie".
On June 13, Mirusia will perform with Andre Rieu in the Amsterdam ArenA. This coming fall she'll perform a series of solo concerts. More information: ► www.mirusia.nl

Bless her, I can not imagine her looking anything but feminine, she could wear a bin bag and still look nice. I hope she was not too dissappointed with Topshop!
