Marc Rieu Exhibits During the Maastricht Concerts
CHAPEAU MAGAZINE: In the wake of his father, the "other" son of André Rieu, Marc, tries for the second consecutive year in a row to take the Vrijthof by storm. Not in as much as taking the square itself, but rather the Theatre in which he exhibits all his paintings. "It became a success last year", says Marc Rieu who is a fan of his father, but sees no role for himself in the company. "I am the illusionist in the family, at least in my paintings. Suggestive illusionism is what you can call my style. Last year I sold eleven pieces during the exhibition and received four job orders. Afterwards I worked quite hard in order to have sufficient new canvases for a new exhibition".
Last year Marc Rieu's works could be seen amongst others in the "Art in the Park" exhibition and during "Jumping Indoor Maastricht" and "Art Nocturne" in Knokke, Belgium. "And next year I will try to exhibit in a gallery in Maastricht during the TEFAF". (The world’s most influential art fair)

What great talent all in the one family. I look forward to Marc putting his own stamp on the artistic community and reaping the benefits he deserves in his own rights.
ReplyDeleteWe had a chance to see Marc's paintings and speak with him for a bit. What a personable young man he is...and so talented.
