CALGARY 2011 CONCERT REPORT AND PHOTOS

The venue was only about 2/3 full, but the audience had a ball and there were several standing ovations. The audience was really responsive, and André was very funny in his banter with the crowd.

Wow, what a quick turnover. Great pictures, Al. Looks like a fun concert as always.

Wow, Al...that was real super quick! And very nice too....However, judging from your photos, Jet Gelens was also missing and did Andre have a temporary replacement for Nathalie?
ReplyDeleteThe Rieu website has been so quiet this past week that I was wondering whether they had actually left for Canada - we did not get Andre's usual tweet about leaving/arriving or starting the first concert either....and the news section hasn't been updated during the last few days.
Regards to all from ENTIA on a lazy spring Sunday afternoon in sunny South Africa.
A great concert and we really enjoyed it. Had a wonderful time meeting fans again, and the evening went way toooooooooooooo fast.
ReplyDeletePictures forthcoming.

Wow Al, great pictures!! Did I see Afsaneh in the audience?? So you all met again! I wished I was there.
ReplyDeleteYou are really fast Al! Great photos! What a wonderful time spent with good friends...looking forward to it again tonight!
ReplyDeleteKay & Jennifer
Yes, VERY fast, Al, and to imagine Sue was waiting at her end and worked on them before we woke up...the efficiency was kind of scary! And we knew Al would have great pics but taking attendance record too??? Impressive!
ReplyDeleteGlad you all had a great time at the first concert of the tour! Thanks for sharing the great pictures with us!
ReplyDeleteThanks Al, Kay & Jennifer and John & Bobbie for the pictures and comments. Look forward to your pictures Bobbie & John and hope you include a report.
ReplyDeleteWe missed Maastricht this summer and wish we had been there to see you all.
Will be in Detroit next Monday with MI family and friends from Ohio and Nevada.
Re the missing long-time members. I have been to concerts where some joined later in the tour or left early. They have worked so hard on the new CD and Christmas DVD and most have families, so it's not strange to have a smaller orchestra.
