Mirusia's Facebook: "A cute article from Limburg Plus!"
Mirusia Louwerse is undoubtedly one of the major stars of André Rieu's Johann Strauss Orchestra. The 26-year-old soprano was born in the Australian city of Brisbane, but is of Dutch descent and speaks their language fluently. With her golden voice she brings worldwide audiences together.

This summer, she will again be heard in Maastricht, when Andre Rieu's orchestra again performs a series of concerts on the Vrijthof.
Did you know that Mirusia scored a No. 1 hit in Australia with the album Waltzing Matilda? She recorded that with the Johann Strauss Orchestra. Enjoy some vocal highlights of this extremely talented singer.

  1. what an amazing picture of Mirusia, she lost weight I think!
When I glanced shortly over it, I thought it was her colleague Anna Reker for a second.

It is a beautiful photo of Mirusia but probably a couple of years old.

Mirusia wouldn't use an old one for it.

  5. Andre and his orchestra have enough talent to perform without those tiresome extras. Yes have a tenor and a soprano and some sort of set but much of it spoils the overall concert - it is MUSIC that is the most important (apart from Andre himself of course!) If it is this huge circus which is causing him stress, pare it down and please let's have more of Andre and less of the Show. Carol Caesar, Bletchley, Buckinghmshire

  6. I don't think Mirusia is a "tiresome extra" and I hope she doesn't read this! She is a classically-trained singer with a lovely voice. I especially loved her in "Wonderland" and "Dancing through the Skies" ("Wedding at the Opera"). She was beautiful in both, and I can't imagine either production without the singers.

  7. Mirusia is ready for her own carreer, I feel. She has had a lot of support from Andre to get her started, including solo cd's with JSO as backing orchestra, and now she can go into the blue blue sky like a wonderful songbird and prove she has what it takes.
This would also cut costs for ARP, so the knife cuts both ways.
    Good luck, Mirusia.

  8. I like Mirusia and I liked Suzan Erens. They sing a mixture of songs. I don't care for alot of opera so the rest Kimmi,Carla and Carmen who I think is gone already can go. I'm not saying they don't don't have beautiful voices just not for me. Sandy

FYI - Mirusia has a Birthday coming up very soon - March 29th -
she was born March 29, 1985(per Wikipedia) so Mirusia will be 27. The photo is probably from over a lustrum in soprano time (ladies choice:-) ).
