Sky Arts 2 Screening Back-to-Back Performances by André Rieu
A TV channel is to devote its entire schedule to back-to-back performances by waltz king Andre Rieu for an entire fortnight. The Dutch musician and composer, one of the world's biggest-selling stars, will be screened 24 hours a day by Sky Arts 2. The station is clearing its schedule for the season of performances by the 63-year-old and his Johann Strauss Orchestra and will be rebranded as Sky Arts Rieu.
As well as concerts there will also be a documentary and interview hosted by Sky News presenter Charlotte Hawkins during the season from March 30 to April 14. James Hunt, channel director of Sky Arts, said: "Andre Rieu is one of the best-selling live acts in the world and one of the most successful violinists ever. We are thrilled to be working with the maestro on his very own channel."
Violinist and conductor Rieu has sold more than 35 million albums globally and is one of the best-selling live acts in the world.

How very exciting! This is a true testament as to how The Maestro is admired and appreciated - and not just by his devoted and loving fans. Andre and the JSO must be very proud - and I can't wait for SkyArts Rieu!!!!

  2. Sky Arts Rieu, amazing!!! I don't think that has ever happened before. congratulations Andre and the JSO, there will be no work done those two weeks, Andre deserves this, after the years he struggled for recognition, there is no one who deserves it more!!!

Andre is certainly now being fully appreciated after so many years of hard work. I hope we will see some new concerts and music. Sky has been repeating the same concerts for over a year now on UK television. It is an honour to be a fan of this fantastic man and the JSO.
