Ian and Donna from england send our hopes and prayers for Ruud and his family you have entertained us for many hours our thoughts are with you and your family at this very difficult time thank you and god Bess
Rudd you just have to recover and wake up You are just a tender 44 years of age,so young You have your whole life in front of you So many dreams and ambitions still to achieve in your life Get well soon young man Mum and I are thinking of you To andre and the orchestra Take it easy please mum and love you and you concerts so very very much
Heartbroken to hear about this- Ruud and Lin, and indeed the whole orchestra, have brought so much joy to so many, it's hard to believe that pain or hardship could ever come to them. Wishing them all the best, and sending many prayers from across the ocean- Jennifer D.
thinking of Ruud and his family at this sad time, he is far to young for this to be the end of his career, hope he makes a good recovery I pray that he comes out of his coma soon and is back with his wife and children and also with the orchestra, hope all the rest of the orchestra and Andre have time to rest and support each other this Christmas and into 2017. Gail
Praying hard for Ruud. God works in mysterious ways. My thoughts are with his family and the entire JSO ensemble. I was looking forward to seeing you all in Wembley again on Tuesday but instead I watched last year's show at home. Ruud was in fine form as always. Your decision to postpone the UK tour was totally right and hopefully there will a positive outcome now you are all back in your homeland. With much love to you all, Heather in Buckinghamshire UK
With pain in my heart I have to report you that Ruud Merx, André Rieu's 47-year old trombone player did not survive his cardiac arrest. Dutch news media are reporting for a few hours now that Ruud died today, December 22nd 2016, in Maastricht's Academic Hospital. My thoughts and prayers are with Ruud, his wife and children and other family as well as his "musical family" André Rieu and his JSO collegues. The trombone balancing act has come to a halt forever. R.I.P. Ruud!
One of the lights in the music world has gone out.How much so many of us lit up when Andre and his orchestra came on the stage and lit up our life for just those few hours.I know he will be missed very much and the next time we see the "family"playing our thoughts will be with them as they are now.Thoughts of sympathy are with you especially Ruud's family.King regards Beryl Wooding
