News From Maastricht on André Rieu Concerts

Here is a little news from Ineke in Maastricht ... (Friday morning)
The latest news is that the Sunday July 11th lunch concert will be held in the MECC!! The weather conditions are so hot that they are afraid of people fainting on the square. The hot weather is very rare for Holland! The DuCasque Hotel has no air conditioning for it is a historic "Art Deco" building and they are not allowed to change the interior. So we stay quiet in the shade on the terraces with lots of cold beer.
The dress rehearsal was hilarious. People attended the dress rehearsal for free and they were the best audience thinkable. André prepared speeches and two music pieces: One if Holland wins the World Cup and another one if Spain wins the World Cup. He practiced on "Congratulations" in Spanish and pronounced it wrong every time! André was very relaxed and funny.
Ruud is trying to post a few videos of the dress rehearsal and particular the things that went wrong. Tonight we'll attend the first concert (Friday). The final amount of participants for the fan dinner: 73. 13 nationalities, from 5 continents! ... Ineke
