Watching André Rieu's Set Up on The Vrijthof

A lot of us are watching the Live Webcam on the Vrijthof right now ~ it's exciting to see it all come together! Betty and I have always gone to Maastricht a week early, so have watched the process in person ........... I have tons of photos of it all, but thought these few might show you a little closer what you're seeing on the webcam that is too small sometimes to see good.
Watching them work on the light towers is so fascinating!! (All the tea in China wouldn't get me on top of those things!) And they are at the top of them working on placing and connecting each of those glass lamp shades for so long! ~ I took several pics from the window in our room as they are almost at the same level as we are, and we're on the third floor right under the webcam ...
This is a picture of what we call the "Rieu Bugs" ... you see them on the webcam constantly going back and forth and all around. About a block or so away from the Vrijthof, there is a warehouse. The busy little "Rieu Bugs" are going back and forth all day long getting stuff from the warehouse and bringing it to the Vrijthof.
These last two pictures are showing the Vrijthof from sitting across the street at Gauchos. (The Webcam is directly above us three floors up) I put it on just to show you what it looks like from ground level ... and last, the full picture of what we should be seeing on Friday night for Concert Time!! ... They really got a lot done today. Looks as though the light towers are already up & the stage is well on its way. By Thursday (when most of us arrive), we will see the finished product.

You really captured the essence of the huge job to prepare the Vrijthof for the fans. Many thanks, Sue.
I saw the set-up the year they had to move everything from Vienna to Maastricht and there was really too much to do.
    Nothing like it is there?

I have been watching the progress on the Vrijthof all day. How interesting it must be to actually be there and see it all come together.
