Become an "Official" André Rieu Photographer!
Sign up now for a chance to be selected as the “André Rieu Official Fan Photographer” at any of the upcoming U.S. or Canadian concerts.
As “André Rieu Official Fan Photographer", you will be given a brand new digital camera to take photos before and during the concert you are attending. After the concert, you will email your photos to us and we will put the best ones on the News page of André’s Web site ► www.andrerieu.com and the official André Rieu Facebook page ► www.facebook.com/andrerieu. After the tour is over, one photo will be selected from all the concerts as “Best Photo.”

You will receive a brand new Nikon Coolpix S3100 digital camera! In addition you will be given a pair of tickets for great seats at the concert, and a 2011 tour program signed by André Rieu! The photo chosen as “Best Photo” will be printed on canvas and sent to the photographer.

I was so excited when I got this news in my inbox today. I thought "Whow! It's tailor-made for Al!" André's not coming to Vancouver but I thought I'd sign up for somewhere and just have to find a way to go if I do win. But I didn't like the way their registration form was set up. There's not a Canadian province for address to select so I quit. Also I learnt that the camera is about $139. I wonder how good those pics can be but they didn't say you HAVE to take pics with that Nikon. Big fans bought tickets months ago. Giving out free camera, tickets and autograph to someone who has not even bought tickets yet? or give out to their friends? In any case it's fun for those going to some concert(s) this coming US/Canada Tour and whether or not Al signed up for this, or ever randomly chosen, he IS our official photographer... with a VERY SERIOUS camera.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Alice. If the Rieu Organization is going to run a contest for Canada & the USA....it should have the proper form to fill out. There should have been room for the Canadian Province.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the camera.... I understand that there will be cameras given away for EVERY concert on the tours. That means lots of cameramen. (We all know that Al would be the #1, if there was a choice )
What confuses me is that most of us have already bought our tickets. What do we do with our existing tickets, if we are chosen?

Alice, is there a way to kind of "force" feed the province in the form - like adding it to the city field or something? I know the form didn't quite work for U.S. address formats, either, but we'll see. C'mon, Alice - if you had a backstage pass to take pictures BEFORE the concert, I know you'd do it! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis is just to promote the concerts. No purchase is necessary. Of course if someone already has tickets he or she can keep those and get two more.
