André Rieu Announces 2011 Schoenbrunn Concert at Press Conference

André Rieu Announces Schoenbrunn Castle Concert for 2011

In the White and Gold Rooms of the Schoenbrunn Palace, the scheduled Press Conference for André Rieu's July 1, 2011 planned Concert took place. Rieu made the announcement of the 2011 Concert in front of Schoenbrunn.

André Rieu, the Dutch violinist and orchestra leader so far has sold more than 30 million albums. Together with his 50 member Johann Strauss Orchestra, he performs concert tours on five continents. Each year more than 700,000 spectators experience his great concerts - he is thus one of the top ten touring artists. In the U.S. he was crowned the No. 1 Classical Artist, and in Australia he received more than 100 times the platinum award for his CD's and DVD's. André Rieu, "Even as a child I was fascinated by the enormity of the world of music. My father was a conductor and I still remember the bombastic sound of the orchestra, the many violin bows who always went the same time in the same direction. I thought that was wonderful! However, I wondered about the somber atmosphere during those concerts. In all of them there were all these serious faces, no one was allowed to clear his throat, let alone laugh. And all that in spite the fact that so much joy was received through this music!"

"The waltz drew me so much under it's spell that really several years later it became a way in my life as a musician, living in three-quarter time. Today together with my own orchestra I play much more than just the waltz. My dream is to make all sorts of classical music accessible to a wide audience."

Thank you as always for the ©Translations John!!
