André Rieu Wins Album of The Year at Classic Brits
Violinist Andre Rieu - who has transformed once unfashionable waltz music into a stadium draw - was awarded the prized album of the year title at the Classic Brits.
André Rieu has won the Classic FM Album of the Year Award at the Classic BRITs 2011. He collected the award from Classic FM presenter John Suchet. André and his Johann Strauss Orchestra were awarded the accolade for Moonlight Serenade, which topped the classical charts in the UK for much of last year.
André is still on tour in Australia, but sent a video message, saying: “It has been a truly wonderful night, keep waltzing. I’ll be back in the UK very soon.” Click on link to see full article: ►http://www.andrerieu.com/en/news/andre-rieu-wins-classic-fm-album-of-the-year-
We here in the UK so wanted Andre to win this Award. Many of us voted every day, every time we used our computers, and it obviously paid off! I'm sure fans from other parts of the world must have voted too. A well deserved Award for Andre!

So happy that Andre won this award. The album "Moonlight Serenade" is just wonderful. It was such a joy to see Andre "live" in Birmingham when he came to the UK recently and everyone who went just can't wait for him to return. He says he will be back soon - I hope so I am in withdrawal at the moment....Patricia :)
