March 18, 2010 Toronto: Thousands of baseball fans are expected to flood the Rogers Centre to welcome former Blue Jay pitcher Roy Halladay for the first time since he was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies last year.
At the same time, 20 world leaders, including U.S. President Barack Obama, will gather at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre next door.
A couple of hours after the June 26 Blue Jays game finishes, a little to the east of the convention centre, violinist André Rieu will play a concert at the Air Canada Centre. Maple Leaf Sports vice-president Bob Hunter said police asked it not to hold events during the summit, but the Rieu Concert had already been announced.
