André Rieu and Kerri Anne
Mirusia and Pierre are there too. I don't think we'll see André eating any more Vegemite soon!! ...André tries to eat Vegemite on toast during The Kerri Anne Show in Sydney.
Jann sent me a tube of it last winter and I tasted it, (Ewwwww) And I can say each one of my kids and most of my grandkids have tasted it and they said Ewwwww too! It's VERY salty and to me tasted like concentrated vitamin C.
Click on the link to see the funny clip, and Mirusia sings the Vegemite Song! Those of you who know Margaret will catch her singing in the audience!!
Thanks for the heads up on this Chris!

What a good sport he is!! And he must have an iron stomach as well. Anyone who is brave enough to eat vegemite on TV has my admiration and respect! My daughter couldn't even swallow it...had to spit it out immediately. ~Kay
Hi Kay ~ I was being polite in the post on the front page, but my kids were the same way ... a couple of them couldn't spit it out fast enough!! I had to chew Juicy Fruit gum for an hour to get the taste out of my mouth!!
Did you hear in the video when Mirusia said she carries it with her on tour, André said, "Your Fired!" ;-))
I lived in England many years ago and it seemed that everyone had it on the kitchen table so of course I figured it must be good so I bought some. My boyfriend at the time said "who's that for?" (He was from Scotland and knew all about it). I tried one but and into the garbage it went.

Shame on you Sunshine, after all that trouble I went to of sending you the "golden vegemite" !!!!
I grew up in the Land of Oz and have been exposed to that black goo for years and I HATE IT - UGH
I'm with André on this one - it's rat poison ...
When Ruud and I were in Australia, we tried the vegemite of course. Is is not that bad!! You just add a little bit on a cheese sandwich and that is delicious! Just a little bit! In England it is called Marmite. We don't have it in Holland. But I can eat it without problems!
I am among those who cannot understand why anyone could eat Vegemite. My grandaughter brought me home some when she returned from a college semester in Australia. My reaction was also ewwww!!
Eileen
I don't really understand what all the fuss is about. I agree with Ineke. A tiny smattering on buttered toast.. delicious. Thats the point. you have all been too greedy, you are eating too much of it and it is strong !
it is only rat poison, Jann, if you use too much .
Adele
Adele ~ that theory doesn't work when it comes to Vegemite. I barely put a dot on my tongue and it was Ewwwwwwww ... same with all my kids. That stuff is just nasty!
In my house it is voted 100% Ewwww!
I keep it at the front of the pantry shelf though so when anyone sees it and asks what it is, I tell them Jann sent it to me from Australia and to taste it! It's a lot of fun watching their reactions and then the mad dash to the sink to spit it out. :))))
André was so funny in the clip with it. ;-)
What a lovely interview in HD image quality! Don't you just LOVE that MAN? It's so sweet of him saying he'd be taking Marjorie by the hand and go travelling @ 100 yrs old, but I wish he had more time for Marjorie sooner!
As for the vegemite, I had no idea what it is but wait til you smell a Chinese sundried salty fish, folks!
Hi Alice, I think I will pass on the Chinese sundried salty fish, too!!
Eileen
So, if I HAD to try one, in some kind of challenge, I wonder if I'd be better off choosing between Vegemite, or, Limburger cheeeeeese!
Actually, I think I'd be a sport and at least have a LITTLE taste of each, as well as raw herring, or Chinese sundried salty fish...(maybe). My thought is, who was the first person to decide, "hey, why don't we eat that black, stinky goo?"
