The “Musical Holidays” leg of André Rieu’s “Celebration Of Music” tour of North America begins in Mexico City then makes its way through the U.S.A., bringing joy and cheer to one and all.
Accompanied by his 55-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra, Rieu’s holiday itinerary begins with four shows in Mexico City at Auditorio Nacional Nov. 24-27 then heads north of the border, playing Glendale, Ariz., at the Jobing.com Arena Nov. 29; Las Vegas at Orleans Arena Nov. 30; San Diego’s Sports Arena Dec. 1; Ontario, Calif., at the Citizens Business Bank Arena Dec. 2 and Los Angeles at Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE Dec. 3. Other stops include San Jose, Seattle, Vancouver, Toronto and Florida towns Sunrise, Tampa and Orlando.
What can fans expect? Holiday favorites for sure, but also selections from the artist’s latest album, Forever Vienna.
Along with Rieu and the orchestra, each show features six truly gifted vocalists, such as Carmen Monarcha who has been with Rieu since 2003. Other vocalists are Brisbane’s Mirusia Louwerse, South Africa’s Kimmy Skota, and The Platin Tenors consisting of Australia’s Gary Bennett, Thomas Greuel from Germany and Hungary’s Béla Mavrák.
“Music is the most wonderful thing in the world – it triggers emotions,” Rieu said. “I want to bring joy with an ode to waltzes, polkas, romantic ballads and many more beautiful melodies. It will be a very special night.”
