Shop Window Displays of André in Maastricht

In the Maastricht concerts Andre talked about window displays in Maastricht shops, referring to his music. He even discovered a violin in between ladies lingerie!! Andre told us his Stradi was jealous and wanted to be there too.... But severe Andre said: Maybe, when you grow bigger........
After the concert, the fans realized that Andre used to call his Stradi a female friend (because of the shapes)... So what is happening here?

Where The Maastricht Fan Banners Come From!

I wanted to take a break from all the Maastricht Concert News and give a Big Thank You to Ineke who every year makes our Banners that go on the front of the DuCasque Hotel for all to see. When André is on stage and looking straight ahead, he is looking right at our Banners! When I'm sitting in my window at the hotel, I see SO many people taking pictures of her Banners!! We know a lot of work goes into them and Ineke ~ "We ALL Thank You!!"

These are a couple of great pictures that Al Girard took. The link below is a video that Al made of Andre's Marching Band.
You have all seen it in many of our pictures and now you can see and hear it!The Band marches around the Vrijthof and then through the Vrijthof for about an hour while André is standing on the Theater Steps. If you could only see his face each time they come around ~ it lights up like a boy on Christmas morning! He LOVES this Marching Band and it sure gets everyone in the festive mood!

I have been doing photos of André and Company for three days straight now and this morning I was looking at some of my own pictures and came across this one that I took of our Special Guests at the fan picnic and started laughing. I decided to put them on here.
I wish I could put it bigger so you could see their little faces better, they were SO cute! And walked right up on the grass where we were sitting! Maybe André sent them to watch us? ;-)

On Friday, June 27th a group of us went to Hoorn to see the Red Rose Cafe ~ it was one of the main highlights of my trip to Holland.They had André's recording of it playing when we arrived and it played the whole time we were there. We all enjoyed a Dutch lunch and sang along with André's music. Just being there was so exciting! The town reminded me of a New England Seaport Village ~ I loved it!
What made the whole experience even more special was, to our surprise André played The Red Rose Cafe at the concert in Maastricht and with everyone singing along to it, it was very moving. When he played it on the last concert Sunday night it brought tears to my eyes ~ The Red Rose Cafe was where our trip started, and in a way ... his playing of it Sunday was ending it ... So many wonderful memories! ~Sue :)

The Faces of André on The Theater Steps ~ Maastricht

André on The Theater Steps in Maastricht

Each night in Maastricht, André and all the JSO have always come out on the Theater steps an hour before the concert starts at 9:30. They all stand there on the steps for the fans to take pictures of them and some of the JSO will let you take pictures with them. We all know how André has said how nervous he is before a concert, so it really is so nice of him to do this for his fans ...

An hour of standing there with people staring at you and taking pictures can't be easy ... For the most part, he usually has a serious, or concentrated look on his face as you see in the picture above on the left. Going over in his head, the program he is about to perform I am sure.

André being André though, you never know what to expect of him! Here are some photos that Al Girard captured before the Saturday night concert. I assure you, you will be smiling as soon as you start watching this. Click on the link below ... :)
