Last year was beautiful Kate! Light sweater weather and Sunny the whole weekend other than for about an hour of rain in the first half of Sunday night's concert.
Hopefully we will have the same this year! Looking forward to meeting you ... Sue :)
I have been to two concerts on the Vrijthof, Kate. In 2006, it was hot and very comfortable at night on the Vrijthof. We were in Europe for 12 days and it was very comfortably warm. Had sweaters and jackets and they never left the luggage. Last summer, it was much cooler and rained off and on upon our arrival on Thursday. Then cleared until Sunday evening. I put on a jacket during the Saturday night concert as it cools down considerably when the sun goes down. In 2005, I heard that it was unpleasantly cold during the first concert. I would bring a sweater and a jacket and of course, do not forget the poncho. Umbrella's not allowed during a concert. It will be fun, no matter what! Laurie
The weather in Holland can be everything from hot to cold!! We never know! Always bring a sweater, a jacket and a poncho, like Laurie said. Today it is Easter, March 23rd. Spring should be in the air!! Guess what? We had snow, hail, storm, thunder and lightning and.... sun! It was amazing! Ineke.
As Ineke and Laurie said, sweater, poncho and jacket are a must Kate. And it wouldn't hurt to bring a small umbrella. I brought a small compact one last year and was glad I did! ~ When we arrived in Maastricht by train, it was raining the hardest I have ever seen it rain in my life! I was glad I had my small umbrella with me. A half hour later the sun was out and it was beautiful! :)
Everyone had umbrella's at the Sunday night concert when it rained during the first half, but if it's not raining too hard, the poncho works good and you don't block the people behind you.
I do hope it's as nice this year as it was last year ... Sue :)
I must say it is absolutely a joy to read these comments because it's so wonderful to see how AR fans apply the Golden Rule in helping other fans and new fans by taking them by the hand to insure they have the most wonderful concert experience of their life.
Sue That is a beautiful photoshow, Sue. I've e-mailed it around over here. What a joy to wake up and find that !! Thank you for posting it. Martha, I totally endorse your comments about these wonderful people and their willingness to help new fans.Wouldn't it be great to live in a world where everyone lived that way? I'm planning to come to Maastricht next summer and am in the process of finding some like-minded 'Andre fan or fans' to go with me. I'm not a seasoned traveller ( haven't been to Europe since I taught in England in the sixties!!) but for Andre and to meet all of you lovely people,I'm determined to make the long-distance flight!! Have a wonderful time, Kate. I would love to have been able to go this year; however all in good time!! Cheers to all Bernadette
Sunrise in Maastricht is between 10:00 and 11:00PM here for me. I was sitting here watching TV and had my laptop on. I thought I would leave the Webcam on and watch it. (knowing it was going to snow in the night, I thought it was going to be pretty) As dawn started to break, I could see how beautiful it was going to be, so started saving the pictures of it every few minutes. It sure was better than the TV!! :)
It looked more like Chritmas Morning though ~ not Spring!! ;-)
Hi friends, Are you aware you are looking at Mount St. Peter?? Yes, exactly, Andre's castle must be somewhere near the horizon. The web cam, which is fixed on the DuCasque Hotel, registers images to the southern direction of Maastricht, and that is where Andre lives. Ineke.

Hi, what will the weather be like in end June/July - warm/cold? Will be taking a poncho in case it rains!

Thank you everyone. Anne and I will be there with our Aussie scarves and flags. We are going to both the Amsterdam concerts as well.
