This is a photo that Edwina Morgan (Mrs. Ed) from Australia posted on her Facebook and I wanted to post it here on the Parlor so everyone could see, it's so beautiful. She took it in July 2010 while in Maastricht. Here's how she described it ... we all remember the damage that was done to the Vrijthof that night ... (click on photo to see it full size)
"It was around 9.00pm (concert time) a couple of hours after a big storm hit Maastricht, including a mini tornado, which caused a lot of damage around town! Luckily there was no concert this night, I went for a walk with my trust camera and this came right before my eyes, just so beautiful!!!" ... Edwina
Thanks Mrs. Ed for sharing this with us.

You've been hiding this magnificent photo? Oh sis....
O wow, Edwina, what a spectacular photo! I remember the storm and the mini tornado in Maastricht in 2010 very well! It was scary!
Sorry I was Ineke.

What a wonderful picture.
We were still in Europe, driving from northern France to Brussels for our return home. The sky was incredibly black ahead and when we arrived near Brussels, there were tree branches strewn around. I remember worrying about MaryAnn as she was flying home to CT. that day. Was delayed, but made it safely. It was later that we learned about what happened in Maastricht. Guess it could have been a lot worse.
Thanks so much for the fantastic picture. (And hope to see you again in Maastricht some one of these years!)
Laurie
