RTL BOULEVARD: Violinist André Rieu is planning to build his own music building in the capital city of Limburg reports De Telegraaf (The Telegraph).
Rieu spoke of his intention to build a ‘Maastricht Dome’ after his concert on the Vrijthof in Maastricht. Joop van den Ende and Rabobank are also involved in his plans.
"We want a concert hall for 5000 people. Joop van den Ende will utilize it for 200 days annually and I will use it for the remaining days. Currently I travel all over the world but within a few years that is going to become too tiring. This would then be a great solution. Apart from those in Cologne, Brussels and Amsterdam, a ‘Maastricht Dome’ would, in our opinion, be viable” said Rieu.

Oh, so that plan didn't die? The last time I heard him talking about this is like 4 years ago. They were going to rent part of the Timmerfabriek to make a theatre in, but it never happened.

I have heard this story so many times already, I personally don't think it is ever going to happen. Musicals are on their way back anyway, so what is Van den ende going to do with it the 200 days a year Rieu is not using it?

Of course this wil happen, everything Andre wants happens! The concert at copacabana beach? done! The concert on the north pole? working on it! I just KNOW this theatre will come, and it will be the pearl of maastricht, and then andre will do a concert on the moon! go andre, you can do it!!
