Thursday, February 7, 2008 ~ Benny after two months of fighting against this debilitating disease ended his battle. He passed away quietly in the arms of his beloved Hans.

How can it be that Benny's latest album was called "Unexpected" and that the songs were about saying goodbye.... Benny did not feel well for about six years. Checks did not show anything wrong.... he thought he was a hypochondriac... Around Christmas came the diagnose: cancer all over in his body. In February he died. Sometimes it is a blessing when it goes fast. Please put your condolences in the register, it'll be appreciated that Andre Rieu fans loved him too. Ineke.
He was certainly a fantastic entertainer and so very popular. I only learned about him from the Maastricht concert and desired to do more research on him. His music will continue to touch many hearts.

so sad to see such a gifted performer that Benny was cut down in the prime of his life!! first introduced to the shows at a HMV store in Edmonton, Alberta. Canada a year ago and was watching dvd tape over 2011 Christmas holidays and so loved the Ode to Maasticrht in the Homecoming DVD bring me to tears.
Upon googling Benny Neyman finding his passing of such a gifted performer brings more tears and I now cherish this dvd and other shows by Andre.
