If you woke up this morning to what felt like an earthquake, you're not crazy. The National Weather Service confirms that just after 4:30 this morning, parts of Central Illinois experienced an earthquake. The Unites States Geological Survey confirms the earthquake was at a 5.2 on the richter scale at the Epicenter near Mount Carmel in Southeast Illinois. We recieved calls this morning from several viewers saying they were woken early this morning, some even said they had pictures fall off their walls.

I'm sure they felt it. We felt it up here in the Chicago area. We even felt the 4.7 aftershock later that morning - about 10:15. They were much closer to the epicenter, so now they have another adventure to add to their log list of exciting tour experiences.
See what happens when André comes to Illinois? He rocks our world! :-)

I know they sure didn't like it when they were in Japan and that Earthquake hit and I'm always afraid we'll have one when they're here!
I'm sure glad that it was Illinois that had it and not California!! At least they know it's very rare for Illinois. :)
I bet they all wrote home about it!
A 5.2 quake is a moderate sized earthquake and was likely felt in Peoria. I'm sure it rattled more than a few nerves. People out here in California are still very shaken by them and we're used to them. Sue, when I was at the Oakland concert last December, I kept thinking I sure hope we don't have an earthquake! I want him to come back here!
I wonder if he mentioned it at the KC concert?

When they traveled to Japan, they often felt tremors that frightened them and then there was the big one. Didn't Andre run down eight flights of stairs in their hotel with the staircase swaying from side to side? That wasn't all. They had a typhoon, too, during that trip and JSO planned to take a train from one city to another. At one point the train could travel no further and the orchestra was put out on a train platform for eight hours!!! Had to wait for a bus to pick them up to take them back to the city from which they left. A trip I'm sure they all remember!
