♦ April 15 was the first concert in Chicago of Andre's "Wonderland Tour" and I said I would let you all know who was there ... Mirusia was there ~ Suzan and Carmen are not with him ~ BUT don't be too dissapointed because you are in for some suprises!
♦There were of course the favorite songs ~ But there were new songs and some "new twists" to some "old songs." For example, Mirusia sang "Ava Maria" for her first song. I know we all miss Carmen, but Mirusia sang it SO BEAUTIFUL and you could have heard a pin drop! Her second song was "Memories" ... again just Beautiful!!!

♦André then announced that he is always looking for new talent and he had found a beautiful girl with a beautiful voice from Maastricht to add as his new soloists. I don't remember her name, but those of you that have "Live in Vienna" will recognize her from the chorus. She is so pretty and really does have a Beautiful voice. I loved her right away! She sang Song of Vilja. I have to admit at first I compared it to Carmen's, but as she sang her voice was so beautiful I was hearing and appreciating only hers. I just know you are all going to love her!! John is going to get some good pictures of her in KC!
There was more Beautiful Music in this concert and no comical skits.
Not to say Andre's humor wasn't alive and well!! ~ Just no skits.
A few of the songs he played that we haven't heard in awhile on tour were:
♫ Gold and Silber (Live in Vienna)
♫ Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (Live in Vienna)
♫ Three Tenors ~ This Land is Mine (Wonderland)
♫ Salomé (Wonderland)
♫ Sabre Dance (Wonderland)

In The Encores we also got the Glenn Miller Medley and The André Sisters
which I know a lot of us love and don't get to see him play live in concert.
He played of course the Blue Danube and also played Song of The Volga.
And, for those of you that haven't got to hear it yet, the Three Tenors are still singing their AMAZING Tribute to Pavarotti! ♥
The concert was SO Beautiful and Somewhat different

Oh thank you so much for your comments. I just HAD to know, now I can really anticipate what I know I am going to see. We will look forward to John's report and photos. I know about where you were and that is not a good place for photos. I will see what I can do in Jacksonville and Miami. We have row 6 in Miami but it is in the center I think. Jacksonville is first row but over a little to the left, seats 1 and 2 in F3. F2 is dead center. But I do get photos during the encores which is difficult because so many people are pushing you around! Thanks again and I will see you in Atlantic City. That will be ideal for photos!! Thanks again Sue for posting for us who have to know ahead of time.
Love,
Jeanine Ann
Hi Sue,
I peeked, too! I love knowing what I have to look forward to and will spend the next month anticipating it all and will say to myself many times "I can't wait! I can't wait!" My first concert will be in Rochester, then on to Atlantic City and Reading the following week. Looking forward to seeing you and all the others.
Eileen
Thanks Sue,
As we won't see the concert here in Australia I am pleased to bere able to "be at the concert". Looking forward to seeing other photos.
Ooh, the Andre Sisters! So was it just the two soloists, Mirusia and the one you mentioned? Thanks for your report! Can't wait to hear about the rest.
Annie
Hi Annie,
Yes, just the two soloist. Kalki from the choir did sing with the two girls and the three tenors, but she didn't sing any solo's.
With Carmen being with him in May, Kalki would go back to the chorus.
I'm glad you will sleep better now Jeanine!! ;-)
John will have some great pictures for us after tomorrow night Margaret! :)
You just had to "Peek" didn't you Eileen!! See you in a few weeks in AC!!! I can't wait! :)
We're only human, Sue, of course we wanna peek! Heehee!
Getting heads up does not take away the excitement. Being there experiencing the concert is different. Don't we all love and laugh at "André's tricks" though we saw them a hundred times! GOSH! This man is so good in stealing our hearts, men and women, young and old! One more month for my Ottawa concert!
Hi Alice!
I'm with you ~ I want to KNOW what it's going to be like so I can look forward to it. Many don't like to know though and want to be surprised.
Have fun at the Ottawa Concert, I know you're going to love it! One of my favorite parts was seeing him do the Glenn Miller Medley live in concert. I had only seen it on DVD and it was great to actually see them do it. I LOVE the look André gets on his face when they're playing that!! :)
Thank you, Sue! I also "cheated" and had to have a look at what to expect next month in New York. I'm even more excited now that I know he will be performing some of my favorites. I hope he does the Glenn Miller medley there...my husband will love it (he's an Andre fan "in training"!)
Can't wait for John's pictures and report from KC!
Kay
Hi Kay,
He will do the Glenn Miller Medley in New York, his concert will be the same for the whole US tour.
I just loved it!! :)
Thanks for the report, Sue. I like to know ahead of time, too.
To clarify: The Andre Sisters are not from the choir. They are three of the orchestra girls (l-r) - Lin Jong, violin, Manoe Konings, clarinet and Stephanie Detry - piano. (Formerly, Renate Dirix - bassoon and saxophone. After many years, she left to form her own group, playing medieval instruments.)
The Andre Sisters singing a medley and the orchestra playing a Glenn Miller medley perormed in the first U.S./Canadian tour on November 13, 1997 in Detroit and are in "The North America I Love" video. They also performed in "Live at the Royal Albert Hall" ~ in London (Video and DVD). FUN!!!
Laurie
Sonja and Sue,
You are welcome to post my photos from Tuesday's Chicago concert on your site if you wish.
Meanwhile, everyone can access them from here: http://andrerieuchicago2008.shutterfly.com/
Enjoy!

Hi JH,
I have had the link to your photos all along at the bottom of this Chicago post. I didn't have it in bold though, so you might have missed it.
I just now put it in bold so it will stand out more.
Sue :)
