June 17, Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania: When Dutch violinist, conductor and composer André Rieu brings his “Celebration of Music” 2010 North American Tour to the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza on Monday, he will share the stage with some local youngsters.
The singers, primarily fourth through eighth graders from the Dallas Middle School Select Chorus, will perform Michael Jackson’s “Earth Song” as a tribute to the late pop artist.
Directed by Hollie Major, the Dallas Middle School Select Chorus has sung at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins games, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees games, the state Capitol building, local nursing homes and during Wilkes-Barre’s Fine Arts Fiesta.
Monday’s concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and will showcase Rieu’s 55-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra.
