André Rieu Delivers a Fun-Filled Show in Buffalo

Violinist Rieu Delivers a Fun-Filled Show in Buffalo
Andre Rieu, dapper violinist and leader of the Johann Strauss Orchestra, was in town on Monday, playing First Niagara Center. He gave us a show to remember.
This was my first time seeing Rieu live, and I will be seeing his smiling face in my dreams. Rieu had fun in Buffalo. You could tell. Buffalonians, so free of vanity, gave him plenty of opportunity for his unique vaudeville humor.

Really enjoyed this review and the reviewer really enjoyed the concert!
I saw this concert in Detroit and last Saturday night in Fairfax, VA ... near Washington, D.C. I must have met attendees from 10 or 11 states, D.C. and Canada. Everyone was raving about it.
With Andre's very full worldwide tour schedule, just hope that we don't have to wait too long for JSO to come over again.

Nice reviews and I agree with a lot of what was said! I was at the Washington, DC concert and it was absolutely fantastic. The audience absolutely did not want to let Andre, the singers and orchestra go at the end, and fortunately they kept playing more encores! Looking forward to the concert in Manchester, NH which we will squeeze in the day after Thanksgiving! It should be worth it!

I ditto Laurie and Jennifer's comments. Because I live in DC and had a choral concert of my own the night before at the Kennedy Center, it was a very exciting weekend for me. Both concerts were wonderful and both had its critics, but the real truth comes from the audience not the critics. Andre's choice of the Patriot Center was right on the dime. The acoustics, pictoral scenes were crystal clear and the lighting exceptional much better than Baltimore.

He brought freshness to music we always hear and there were many people I felt who came for the very first time to an Andre Rieu concert. I met a lady who learned of him while she was in Bulgaria and since being in DC/VA she said hey, "this is it, I'm going to this concert" and she truly enjoyed herself. I think what we always hear as the same music played (excluding the waltzes because that's how he got his fame) that for some this music is completely new to them. Especially for the younger people who were there that I saw and more Africa-Americans other than myself.

From where I sat, I saw more of an international attendance. But then you're talking about Washingto DC and that includes the entire metropolitan area. The response he received, the orchestra, soloists and all was well deserved. I hope Andre will consider coming back to Washington.
